Dr. Raymond Pedersen received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Biology from the University of Illinois, Urbana. He taught Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, and General Biology at Moraine Valley Community College in Illinois and two community colleges in Seattle for 7 years. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1986 and received membership in Beta Sigma Kappa as an Honor Student in 1985. Dr. Pedersen taught one day a week as a Clinical Instructor for five years at the UC Berkeley Optometry Clinic. He purchased his practice in 1987 from Dr. Gilbert S. Tom and incorporated Dr. John Austin’s practice in 1998.In surveys by the Argus Newspaper, Dr. Pedersen was voted “Best Optometrist” in the Fremont, Newark, and Union City area four years in a row. In the past years he has also served on the Board of the Alameda-Contra Costa Counties Optometric Society and the Niles Rotary Board.
In the past he was very active in playing softball, snow skiing, and water sports, but lately his main leisure activities have been international travel and gardening!
Dr. Piper Bahr received her Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. She later earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. She completed her residency in Geriatric Optometry and Primary Eye Care at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in West Los Angeles, where her areas of concentration included Low Vision, Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Therapeutic Specialty Contact Lenses, and Nursing Home Care. She was trained to diagnose, manage and treat ophthalmic manifestations of systemic diseases. Dr. Bahr also trained 4th year optometry students who were on their clinical rotations by serving as a clinical instructor during her residency. She has a strong focus on interdisciplinary care and works to improve the overall health of all of her patients.
With her free time, Dr. Bahr enjoys jewelry making, playing board games with friends and family, baking and eating spicy foods.
Dr. Connie Liang received her Bachelorís degree in Molecular and Cell Biology at University of California, Berkeley in 1999. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at UC Berkeley in 2003. During her study there, she completed externships at UCSF, San Francisco VA Medical Center and the Portland VA Medical Center where she gained extensive knowledge in diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. Dr. Liang worked in a refractive surgery office for five years so she has a lot of experience prequalifying patients for the procedures and with post surgery care
Dr. Liang enjoys seeing patients of all ages. Her goal is to take care of your vision need and your overall eye health. Thereís nothing more important than being able to see because that is your window to the world.
When Dr. Liang is not working, sheís home with her three children. They keep her busy with their activities. When she has time she likes to read, do yoga, and take walks.
Dr. Stella Levin†has graduated from San Francisco State University with two Bachelor degrees, in physiology and psychology. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from UC Berkeley, School of Optometry in 2003. As an optometry student, Dr. Levin participated in school vision screenings and delivered free eye care to the underprivileged communities. She completed externships at San Francisco and Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Medical Centers where she received valuable clinical training in diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, inflammation, trauma, retinopathy, and cataracts.
Upon graduation, she gained unique exposure by teaching optometry interns while working at La Clinica De La Raza in Oakland and also enhanced clinical Spanish. Throughout her clinical career, she has been providing family eye care in both large and small/private practice settings.
California State licensed and board certified in treatment of glaucoma and the use of ocular pharmaceutical agents, Dr. Levinís training and experience allows her to diagnose, treat, and manage or co-manage variety of eye conditions.†Her interests in optometry include primary care, contact lenses, low vision and pathology. She is certified in Paragon Corneal Refractive Therapy (Ortho-K) and is a member of COLA network for Refractive surgeries.
Dr. Levin has been living in the city of Fremont for the past 15 years and is happy to provide vision care in her local community. She speaks fluent Russian, English and clinical Spanish.
In her spare time, Dr. Levin spends her time with her husband and two kids. She enjoys reading historical fiction books, playing with her cats, traveling, skiing, and watching movies.
